I don’t think Coloradans realize what a treasure we’re surrounded with all the time. This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure to spend an afternoon taking some candid family photos in RMNP. Funny thing is, I’m 2 for 2 photographing an out of state fam here! Sarah of The Morgan Studio in Atlanta, reached in the spring about a multi-generational family trip to Colorado. With this, I was given a mission: create heartwarming images that documented this moment in time with her daughters, before the next phase of life turned her little girls into young women.
With the kids and grandparents in tow, we set out to find some breathtaking views. Sarah wanted to capitalize on the backdrop of RMNP to document her candid family photos. Her husband, Dutch is a national park connoisseur, and avid fisherman alongside their eldest daughter, Harper. So we set out to create some candid moments by the river while Sarah and their youngest, Vivian, got creative. “Rock spa”, coloring, and building stone towers were amongst the other ventures documented with the girls.
I still smile when I think of the lovely words Sarah wrote about her family and how she sees her girls. Time is a gift, but also a thief. So make sure to document the moments and the ones you love most, and remember to have some fun along the way.
